The Les Paul went through several variations during its formative years, but one
of its most noticeable was the Deluxe's inclusion of dual Mini-Humbuckers. Wound
similarly to PAFs, they have a particularly clean and dry sound, but with a
distinct punch, ideal for '70s-era and southern rock. Just listen to some old
The Who or Thin Lizzy records - Pete Townsend and Steve Gorham were big fans of
the Deluxe.
