1979-80 STRATOCASTER, Black Finish, MN, EXC+ OHC and Tag and metal cover bridge. code FE323
Here we have an stunning example from around 1980, in original 100%
condition with originl case and Tag. It features the classic maple neck and
solid colour combination, in this case gloss black. It has a 5-way switch, and
pickups are original. The trem arm and the almost never seen bridge cover are
included in the case.
This guitar also features one of Leo Fender’s innovations, the three-bolt
Micro-Tilt neck joint. This radical improvement allows for very fast adjustment
of neck angles and so these guitars can, unlike previous models, be quickly set
up for a player’s requirements.Strong straight neck with very good frets ready
to play.
The finish is gloss poly, and is in excellent condition with the black pickguard
on black body and maple neck offer an excellent visual contrast.
The serial number is S9, which can technically break down to indicate 1979 – the
letter S stands for the decade, 1970’s, and the first digit following, 9, is the
year. However, there is some ambiguity around serial numbers at this time and
it’s known that pre-numbered parts were used into the next year or two. This
serial number can indicate anything between 1979 and 1981 but all stamp are 1980
