1968 HOFNER DELUXE SUPER BEATLE Bass G500/1 Natural Gold Parts Rare code Ba79
100% Original Straight neck, excellent frets, all electronic work well. A real super Bass with a strong sound. The circuit has transistor-powered bass boost; (3) controls for adjustment of volume; tone and bass; a pickup selector switch; and a bass boost on-off push switch. Absolutely perfect for recording, while also great for those who want a killer sounding bass for live performances, Hofner basses have become an absolute staple in most studios. This hollowbody bass is extremely light, and weighs a mere 5 lbs. 5 oz.! This bass sure does produce a substantially heavy sound… considering how light it weighs. Other than the typical large weather-checking confined to the top only, due to the thick original finish, the bass is in otherwise excellent condition without pickguard. Comes in Original Case.
Introduced in 1968/69 the deluxe version of the 500/1 Bass, with blonde finish as standard, beautiful flame maple back and sides, fancy body binding, and on later versions, gold-plated hardware. Most 5000/1's up to the 1990's seem to have been fitted with active electronics - either a "bass booster" (B) or occasionally a "sound mixer" (M) circuit being incorporated. Also marketed in the US during the late 60's/early 70's as the "Model G500/1 Super Beatle".
